Welcome to the Kati Keksi monthly newsletter, bringing together the latest content from the Kati Keksi website as well as highlights from social media including Facebook and Instagram. Hey there! Welcome to July's newsletter and an extra big welcome to a tonne of new people who are receiving this newsletter for the very first time (more on that below). July was a particularly hectic month for me, or maybe I was just reprioritising? It was hectic because during the second half of the month I didn't spend any time working on my website. Night shift Most of my articles are written and worked on from 10pm - midnight. By day I'm busy being a mum to our 2yo daughter. During her afternoon nap I do things like working out at the gym or getting to the supermarket for my weekly specials posts. After 10pm is also the time I finally get to chill out and catch up properly with my husband. We've just finished watching the second season of the Star Wars spinoff Andor and up next we'll be watching the final season of The Sandman. I've got a lot of articles in progress and I'm looking forward to (eventually) releasing them. There are a few that are in the works, these are what I regard as big, in depth articles. The best I can manage is publishing this sort of content once a month. Coming soon
Product reviews are much more straight forward so I can get a few of those done per month if needed. One person, many many hats I've achieved (and exceeded) all the goals I set for growing my website, mailing list and social following for this year. So what does one do next? Improvements. I want to improve the most underperforming part of my work - the size of my mailing list. I did a bit of research towards the end of July and found a few things to try out - including a handy option which will allow users to email recipes to themselves to use again later. In the process of setting this up I discovered something. 😬 One of the sign up forms on my website wasn't properly integrated to my newsletter mailing list. This meant that all the folks who signed up to the mailing via an article didn't have their email added to my mailing list (it's two separate programs - websites are complicated). Far out! How did I miss this?! I've had this particular form set up for a year. 🤦♀️ So uh, if it's your first time reading one of my newsletters - Hi, I'm Kati a one-woman show wearing many hats. One of which is Newsletter Manager. I think I'll be having a chat to myself this week about my performance. 😅 It's fixed now and the great thing is that so many more of you are reading this newsletter today because of it. Even better, I figured it out myself without having a cry or emailing tech support. It's also a great example how many roles a small business owner (or website owner) has to take on. A marketer, a web developer, a newsletter writer, an accountant, a photo editor, a copywriter. I'm definitely not great at all of them but I'm certainly improving as I complete every new task. Kati x Oh hey, and if you're one of the new recipients and want to read previous newsletters you can see them on this page. Each article has a little ramble at the start like this one, there are a quite a few where I've discussed behind the scenes of how my website and social pages work and why I do what I do. 🙏🏼 Latest posts on katikeksi.comNot up to date with the website?
