The March recap and Kati's 4th birthday

Welcome to the Kati Keksi monthly newsletter, bringing together the latest content from the Kati Keksi website as well as highlights from social media including Facebook and Instagram.

Hey there!

By the time I send this out, Easter will be over and most of us will be in a chocolate stupor.

The rest will probably be tying up their laces and rushing out to get the last of the gluten free Easter chocolates as they're marked down on the shelves.

You can see the haul I got at Coles this afternoon.

Easter was middle timed this year (last year was April 20, next year it's March 28) and I quite like that.

Easter content is the most popular on my website every year, and 2026 was no exception. I haven't done the final numbers but at a glance that there were well over 30,000 visits to the two or three Easter articles / guides on my website.

It's great in terms of recognition and of course a bit of income.

The workload however, is exhausting. This year I think it would be close to 30 hours spent just prepping Easter content. About half of that was writing and updating the main Easter egg guide.

There's a good reason why no other bloggers make one - it's a lot of work for not a lot of reward.

Watching numbers tick over

I'm not sure if you know this, but there are systems that allow owners to see how many people are on your website. You can see live what pages they're viewing and which city they're from.

It's been quite nice to open it up and see 40+ people from around Australia looking at my Easter egg list at any given moment.

Even 11pm while I'm writing this there are 15 people viewing it.

I still haven't come across anyone down at the shops with their phone out though. 😁

Speaking of numbers, I saw the other day that my Easter egg guide is finally in top place on Google search results!!

I'm not sure when it got to the top spot but I'm very happy to see it there. 🥰

And another, much smaller number

My Facebook page turned 4 this month! I bought a cupcake to celebrate.

Honestly, if I didn't receive a notification about it I would not have realised. 😂

I started my Facebook page purely to promote my website. I was putting in the work to help coeliacs and other people eating gluten free but no one was seeing it.

I needed an audience to prove that what I was producing had value.

It was such a hard grind to get followers. It took six months to get to the first thousand and another six to get to 2k. I was (and still am) so grateful to every follower I got during those early days.

It's quite bizarre that (and quite typical of working in social media) going from 0 to 1,000 was so much harder than going from 20,000 to 40,000.

In case you're wondering, or just want to be baffled, it took 5 months to go from 20,000 to 40,000 followers on Facebook. Wild.

One last thing, no new products reel this month - there were about 10 or so, but from just three ranges. A little boring. 🤷‍♀️

I'll keep them and combine it with April's finds for a bigger, even better reel.

Kati x

Gluten Free Wagon Wheels

I'm not sure if I wanted to admit how long I've been thinking about making these. I'm so glad I did though, they're delicious and it takes less than thirty minutes!

What is Gluten Free at McDonalds?

Last month McDonald's Australia changed how they present ingredients and allergens on their website. It was a good prompt for me to update and republish this very popular article.

Article from the archive

Did you know I started my website back in January 2022? There's so many articles, including reviews that you can read. Here's one I picked for you.

Crinkle Tag Toy for Babies

Yeeeeep! It's a craft article! When I started my website I had the idea that the category "other things" could be whatever I wanted. I occasionally make things with my sewing machine and this is one of the few I wrote up as an article.
